Jammu and Kashmir cricket team players met ICC Chairman Jay Shah and shared their joy with him after their historic victory in the Ranji Trophy. The team won the Ranji Trophy for the first time by defeating eight-time champions Karnataka at the Hubli Cricket Ground last week.
The players appreciated Jay Shah’s role in strengthening the infrastructure and opportunities for cricket in Jammu and Kashmir during his tenure as BCCI Secretary. Jay Shah congratulated the team on their historic achievement and encouraged them.
The BCCI also congratulated the team and the cricket community, saying that this victory for Jammu and Kashmir is a memorable chapter in Indian domestic cricket.
The team’s success was largely due to the performances of all-rounder Abdul Samad and young fast bowler Aqib Nabi. Aqib Nabi took 60 wickets in the tournament, while Abdul Samad scored more than 700 runs. According to experts, this historic achievement will prove to be a great inspiration for young cricketers in Jammu and Kashmir.
