This year, 4,717 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir will perform Hajj, while the first convoy will depart from Srinagar International Airport on April 18.
According to Hajj Committee Executive Officer Dr. Shujaat Qureshi, most of the pilgrims have completed their bookings and payments. Hajj flights from Srinagar will operate from April 18 to 28 and this year Akasa Air will take the pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. About 3,000 pilgrims chose their preferred flight and date.
He said that Hajj flights from Srinagar will run from April 18 to April 28 and the pilgrims will be transferred to Saudi Arabia in phases. This year, Akasa Air has been awarded the contract to operate flights for Hajj operations from Srinagar.
He said that this time the pilgrims were also given the facility to choose the date and flight of their choice, which was taken advantage of by about 3,000 pilgrims.
According to officials, this year there will be separate accommodation for male and female pilgrims, with 2 to 7 people staying in each room. In addition, self-cooking has been banned and food will be provided by authorized catering services.
