New Delhi: A significant literary and intellectual gathering was held at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) under the Bharat Vidya Project, marking the successful release and discussion of the book “भारतीयता का प्रश्न और व्याख्या: कौन है भारतीय?” (Question and Interpretation of Indianity: Who is Indian?).
Giving details of the event Roving Editor Brajesh K Jha said “The event brought together eminent scholars, thinkers, and an engaged audience, enlightening a deep and nuanced dialogue on the evolving idea of Indian identity. The discussion explored intersections of tradition, cultural continuity, and contemporary realities, offering fresh perspectives on a subject that continues to resonate both nationally and globally.”
Addressing the gathering, Ram Bahadur Rai, President of IGNCA, described the book as a timely and significant contribution to ongoing debates surrounding “Indianity.” He emphasized that the question of identity is not only being examined within India but is also part of a wider global discourse.
Reflecting on this, he noted the importance of understanding where India stands in this debate and the frameworks through which such questions should be approached.
The event was further enriched by insightful contributions from distinguished speakers, including the author and Swaraj Peeth Trust Chairman Rajiv Vora, whose reflections added depth and clarity to the theme. Their collective viewpoints made the session both intellectually stimulating and inspiring.
