ACB caught Joint Director Red-Handed with 8 thousand bribes

A case has been registered and further investigation continues. Senior officers said the accused will be interrogated to establish the extent of the bribery allegations.

An Anti-Corruption Bureau team arrested Joint Director Agriculture while accepting Rs 8,000 as a bribe from two complainants for verifying stock registers of fertilisers, seeds and pesticides.

The accused in Extension Anandilal in Baran, Rajasthan district was caught red-handed on May 6, 2026, taking Rs 5,000 from one complainant and Rs 3,000 from another during a trap operation by the ACB Baran unit.

A joint complaint submitted on May 4 alleged he demanded Rs 5,000 each from dealers for verification of stock records. During confidential verification on May 5, the accused accepted Rs 2,000 and continued demanding the remaining amount. Acting on findings, the team laid a trap and apprehended him while accepting the bribe.

Officials said further questioning is underway under senior supervision. A case has been registered and further investigation continues. Senior officers said the accused will be interrogated to establish the extent of the bribery allegations.
