Royal Challengers Bengaluru successfully defended their crown by defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
According to match reports, Gujarat Titans posted 155/8 in their allotted 20 overs after losing early wickets. Washington Sundar played a fighting unbeaten half century, but disciplined bowling from RCB restricted the Titans to a below par total.
In reply, Virat Kohli produced a match winning knock of 75 not out off 42 balls, guiding Bengaluru to the target in 18 overs. Venkatesh Iyer also provided crucial support with a quickfire 32 as RCB dominated the chase from the outset.
Krunal Pandya’s dismissal of Jos Buttler proved to be one of the turning points of the contest, with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar describing it as the “perfect ball.”
The victory marks RCB’s second consecutive IPL title, further cementing their status among the league’s elite teams.
