Srinagar: The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) accorded a warm and dignified farewell to Information Officer Syed Jeelani Qadri on his retirement, with senior officers and colleagues describing him as a symbol of the department’s professionalism, integrity, and institutional memory.
The farewell function was presided over by Director Information Shriya Singhal and attended by Joint Director Information (Headquarters) Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Joint Director Information Kashmir Syed Shah Nawaz Bukhari, Deputy Director Information (PR&AV) Javid Ahmad Rathar, Deputy Director (PR) Srinagar Rafiq Ahmad, Deputy Director (Headquarters) Kashmir Zubair Ahmad, besides other officers and employees of the department.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Information Shriya Singhal paid rich tributes to Syed Jeelani Qadri’s distinguished career, highlighting his unwavering dedication, professional excellence, and invaluable contributions to the department. She said that his commitment to public service and his exemplary work ethic earned him immense respect across the organization.
Other speakers noted that Syed Jeelani Qadri was more than an officer of the department. Over the years, he had come to symbolize the values and traditions of the Information Department through his sincerity, humility, and steadfast devotion to duty. They described him as a guiding force for colleagues and a dependable professional whose contributions significantly strengthened the department’s outreach and public communication efforts.
Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina and Javid Ahmad Rathar lauded his remarkable role in the department’s information and public relations initiatives and wished him a healthy, happy, and fulfilling retired life.
In his farewell address, Syed Jeelani Qadri expressed gratitude to the department’s leadership and his colleagues for their support and cooperation throughout his career.
