Srinagar, July 8: NIT Srinagar stamped its authority on Inter-NIT cricket by defending its title and clinching a record fourth All-India Inter-NIT Faculty & Staff Cricket Tournament (Men) 2026 crown, thrashing NIT Puducherry by a massive 88 runs in a one-sided final.
Powered by Suhail Baba’s unbeaten 64 and Aaqib Sheikh’s fluent 50, the hosts piled up 187/4 before bowling out Puducherry for just 99. Suhail Baba was named Player of the Match, while Aaqib Sheikh finished as Best Batsman and Man of the Series after scoring 364 runs in the tournament.
Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia congratulated the champions and hailed the successful hosting of the prestigious national tournament. Meanwhile, NIT Hamirpur secured third place after defeating NIT Jalandhar by 16 runs.
