Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday felicitated four NEET achievers from Jammu and Kashmir for their outstanding performance in this year’s medical entrance examination, honouring the students with cash awards, tablets and certificates of appreciation at a function in Srinagar.
The four toppers, Hadiya Nisar, Zaidan Wani, Aarav Gupta and Maleeha Ajaz, were each awarded Rs 1 lakh, a tablet and a certificate recognising their achievement. Congratulating the students, Abdullah praised their hard work, dedication and perseverance, and extended credit to their parents and teachers for the support and guidance that helped them reach this milestone.
The Chief Minister said the achievement of the four students was a matter of pride for the entire Union Territory and expressed hope that their success would inspire other young students across Jammu and Kashmir to pursue excellence through sustained effort and discipline.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by Minister for Education Sakina Itoo, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmed Wani, along with Zonal and Chief Education Officers, school principals, and the students and parents of the achievers, underscoring the broad institutional backing behind the recognition event.
An interactive session held alongside the felicitation gave students, educators and parents an opportunity to share suggestions and feedback directly with the Chief Minister on matters of education and student welfare. Abdullah listened to the concerns raised and assured participants that the issues and recommendations discussed during the interaction would be given due consideration, an indication that Thursday’s event was intended as more than a ceremonial recognition, doubling as a channel for feedback on the broader education system.
