Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education Sakeena Itoo reviewed the healthcare scenario and availability of medical facilities in the Chanapora constituency, stressing the need to strengthen public health infrastructure and ensure quality healthcare services.
She reviewed the availability of doctors, paramedical staff, medicines, diagnostic facilities and medical equipment, and directed officials to address gaps through a time-bound action plan. MLA Chanapora Mushtaq Guroo, Principal GMC Srinagar and senior officials attended the meeting.
Later, Sakeena Itoo e-inaugurated a Dialysis Unit at Community Health Centre Surankote, saying the facility would benefit patients requiring regular dialysis and reduce the need to travel to distant hospitals. MLA Surankote Choudhary Mohd Akram and senior officials were also present.
