A delegation from NITI Aayog, headed by Dr M. Srinivas, visited Government Higher Secondary School Nawakadal in Srinagar on Wednesday as part of an educational outreach and assessment programme, engaging closely with students at the institution’s Atal Tinkering Lab. The visiting team included Senior Adviser Anurag Goyal, Subhash Chandra Meena, Dr Muniraju, Dr Shobit Kumar, Arpana Bhatt, Vishnuha, Sumaiya Yousuf and Dr Jhanavi Prajapati, who were accompanied by a team from the School Education Department under the patronage of Director School Education Srinagar Naseer Ahmad Wani, along with the CEO Srinagar.
During the visit, the delegation assessed the innovative work being carried out at the school’s Atal Tinkering Lab, which has been established to foster creativity, innovation, scientific temperament and problem-solving skills among students. The visiting officials interacted directly with students and encouraged them to make effective use of the facilities available at the lab.
Students actively participated in an interactive session, presenting their ideas, activities and perspectives related to the programme’s theme. The delegation appreciated the enthusiasm and engagement shown by the students, emphasising the importance of innovation, creativity and experiential learning in shaping the education of young minds, and noted the significance of technological learning in the present-day educational landscape.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by GHSS Nawakadal Principal Dr Benazeer Chalko, who expressed gratitude to the NITI Aayog delegation and all the dignitaries, staff members and students who contributed to making the visit a success. Officials at the school described the interaction as a valuable and inspiring experience for both students and the institution, calling it an important step toward promoting innovation and creative learning in the school.
