800 players from across India to showcase traditional martial art at Indoor Stadium from Sept 29 to Oct 1
Srinagar, Sep 23: Srinagar is set to witness a major national sporting event as the Gatka Federation of India, in collaboration with the J&K Gatka Association, will host the 10th National Senior Gatka Championship from September 29 to October 1 at the Indoor Stadium, Srinagar.
The three-day championship will bring together around 800 players from different states of India, turning the Valley into a national stage for the traditional martial art of Gatka.
The championship aims to promote Gatka, nurture emerging talent and encourage discipline, skill development and sportsmanship among participants. The event will also feature expert coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions, according to the organisers.
The organisers said the championship will provide an important platform for identifying new talent and strengthening Gatka’s presence at the national level.
The event is being hosted by the J&K Gatka Association, affiliated with the Gatka Federation of India.
