NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has put the breadth of Digital India on display at the 10th edition of India Mobile Congress, where its dedicated pavilion is drawing students, entrepreneurs, officials, researchers and industry representatives. The event began at Yashobhoomi on October 7 and was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 8. It runs until October 10 under the theme “Scale Without Boundaries” and brings together technology companies, startups, innovators, policymakers and researchers from India and abroad.

The pavilion covers digital public infrastructure, citizen services, language technology, data protection, semiconductors, Internet infrastructure, advanced research and technology entrepreneurship. At its core are the digital foundations that support citizen and government services, including Aadhaar, DigiLocker, UMANG and Entity Locker. Together they show how digital platforms are making identity, documents and access to services more seamless, secure and convenient.

At the API Setu booth, visitors can learn how information exchange through APIs supports interoperability across digital systems. The UX4G team is showing how a citizen-centric approach can improve the design and user experience of digital assets. A separate booth explains the Digital Personal Data Protection framework and the importance of responsible processing of personal data in the digital age.

Digital India BHASHINI is demonstrating how artificial intelligence and language technologies can widen access to digital content and services across Indian languages, a theme of particular relevance in a multilingual country. MyGov India has assembled a collection of Mann Ki Baat videos that highlight stories, voices and grassroots initiatives from across the country.

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing is showcasing DARPAN S3, alongside NIXI, SAMEER and the India Semiconductor Mission, reflecting national capability in Internet infrastructure, applied research and advanced technology. Software Technology Parks of India is participating with 14 incubated startups, giving young entrepreneurs a platform to present products and solutions to visitors, investors and industry participants. The showcase offers a glimpse of how ideas are moving towards market-ready solutions.

An interactive Experience Zone adds a hands-on dimension. One booth lets visitors create their own AI avatar, while another offers a VR-based cricket experience, showing how AI and immersive technologies can be made accessible and engaging for ordinary users.

Taken together, the MeitY presence at India Mobile Congress 2026 brings digital services, citizen engagement, AI, startups, semiconductors and advanced research under one roof, offering a concise view of the opportunities emerging across India’s technology landscape.
