Jammu and Kashmir Tourism is taking part in the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026, being held at ExCeL London from November 3 to 5, with two dedicated stalls showcasing the Union Territory’s diverse tourism offerings and emerging opportunities.

The Indian Pavilion at WTM London was inaugurated by Union Minister of Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in the presence of Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Union Territory’s participation at the international travel and tourism exhibition is aimed at presenting its tourism potential, varied destinations and unique visitor experiences to the global travel trade. Several tourism stakeholders from Jammu and Kashmir are also attending, giving them an opportunity to engage with international tour operators, travel professionals and industry representatives. They will also explore avenues for collaboration and for expanding the region’s presence in the global tourism market.

The J&K Tourism stalls have received an encouraging response from visitors and industry stakeholders, reflecting sustained interest in the Union Territory as a travel destination.

Through its participation, J&K Tourism seeks to strengthen its international outreach, promote its diverse tourism products and build new partnerships, with the broader goal of positioning the Union Territory more prominently on the global tourism map.

WTM London is among the world’s largest gatherings of the travel industry, drawing tour operators, travel agents, airlines, hoteliers and tourism boards from many countries. For a destination such as Jammu and Kashmir, which depends heavily on tourism for employment and income, a presence at such a forum offers direct access to buyers who shape travel itineraries for overseas visitors. International visitors are an important segment because they tend to stay longer and spend more, and they diversify a market that has traditionally relied on domestic arrivals.

The Union Territory offers a wide range of experiences, from the lakes and meadows of the Kashmir Valley to the pilgrim circuits, heritage sites and winter sports destinations spread across its regions. Showcasing this variety to a global audience helps move the conversation beyond a single image of the region and towards adventure, culture, wellness and experiential travel.

The three-day event will continue until November 5, and the delegation is expected to hold a series of meetings with trade representatives during that period. Officials hope that the contacts made in London will translate into new partnerships and a steady rise in international interest in the destination.
