Srinagar, November 5: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar launched the first edition of NetworkX, a national-level technology and networking platform, at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) on November 4.

The event brought together students, researchers, academicians, industry experts, entrepreneurs and technology enthusiasts to promote innovation, knowledge sharing and industry-academia collaboration.

A key highlight was an inspiring lecture by Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, Founder and Director of Kashmir World Film Festival and Chairman of ACT – For A Better Tomorrow, on the theme ‘Struggles & Achievements’.

Sharing his 45-year journey, from a young theatre artist in Srinagar to leading one of Jammu and Kashmir’s oldest and largest cultural organisations, Mushtaaque spoke about resilience, creativity, leadership and overcoming challenges. He encouraged students to pursue their dreams, uphold human values while embracing technology, and become job creators rather than job seekers.

“Struggle is not your enemy, it is your greatest teacher,” he said, drawing applause from the audience.

Other distinguished speakers included Jagdeep Singh, Mamta Sharma, Mir Sarwar, Farah Zaidee and Barkat Kour, who shared insights on technology, entrepreneurship, media and professional growth.

The event concluded with the felicitation of speakers by NIT Srinagar. Organisers described Mushtaaque’s session as one of the most inspiring highlights of NetworkX 2026.
