Dr Drabu complimented the team of officers of the Finance Department for working with dedication and zeal to make the whole exercise of the budget preparation fruitful.

In a written reply, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti informed the House that over 18,846 hectares are under authorised occupation of the forces in Kashmir division including Ladakh.

"As stars shine in night and eliminate the darkness, similarly Insha Mushtaq with her courage proved that she too can defeat the evil forces of darkness and she proved that she can achieve her goal."

However, the state Police chief earlier tweeted that two militants were killed “So far 2 terrorists killed in encounter at Pehlipora Larnoo Kukernag. joint team of army/CAPF, J&K Police on the job (sic)”, DGP Tweeted.

Kashmir was however temporarily accessed to India and as promised by the then Prime minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru,a plebiscite was to be done as to choose the destiny of the state according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir.
