Crowd cheered Kickboxing Champion Tajamul for hugging, clicking selfie with Rajnath

Srinagar, June 08 (Only Kashmir): Unusual scenes were witnessed at Srinagar’s Indoor stadium on Thursday where kickboxing champion Tajamul Islam hugged Home Minister of India Rajnath Singh on stage, while being felicitated by the latter in presence of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister for Finance, Syed Altaf Bukhari and others.



During the Sports Conclave organized by the J&K State Sports Council in which the Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh felicitated Kickboxing Champion Tajamul and many sporting stars from the State, the former not only hugged Rajnath Singh at stage but also requested him for selfie.
Rajnath had to bow down to hear properly the request of Tajamul for selfie amid applause by the audience of around 6,000 youth. Rajnath smiled and readily agreed and took the selfie with 2016 World Kickboxing Championship (juniors). With this unusual scene entire sequence of events was lauded by the crowd.
Besides Rajnath, Mehbooba Mufti, Altaf Bukhari and Dr Jitendra Singh also managed to come in camera frame of the selfie.
Tajamul bagged the gold medal in sub-junior category at 2015 National Kickboxing Championship after she defeated her rival from USA to win the championship held in Italy’s Andria where ninety countries participated in the event.
Earlier, the Union Home Minister and the Chief Minister felicitated cricketing stars, Parvez Rasool and Manzoor Ahmad, ace footballer, Mehrajuddin Wadoo, gymnasts, Palak Kour and Bavleen Kour, kickboxer, Tajamul Islam, wushu players, T. Angmo and Rajnider Singh besides members of Real Kashmir Football Club. (OK)
