India Signs Major ₹5,083 Cr Maritime Defence Deal

The Ministry of Defence on Monday signed contracts worth ₹5,083 crore for the procurement of Advanced Light Helicopters and Shtil missile systems in New Delhi. The agreements were formalised in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.

The contract with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited includes the supply of six Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Mark II Maritime Role helicopters for the Indian Coast Guard. The deal also covers the ALH Mark III package, along with engineering support and logistics assistance.

The twin engine helicopters are expected to significantly enhance maritime surveillance, coastal patrolling and offshore security operations, strengthening India’s maritime defence capabilities.
