The Indian Army has released a technology roadmap for Unmanned Aerial Systems and Loitering Munitions, which is being described as a major step towards defining military requirements and planning for the future in this sector.

According to the army, this roadmap will provide clear guidance to industry, universities and research and development institutions so that they can focus their investment and technical capabilities on the priority areas identified by the army.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Rahul R Singh said that the role of drone technology in modern warfare is constantly increasing and recent conflicts have proven that the balance between large-scale deployment and accurate targeting is extremely important.

The event was attended by representatives of the armed forces, defense industry, startups and academic institutions, which aimed to promote the creation of a self-sufficient and robust drone ecosystem.
