DIPR Reviews Kashmir DICs, Pushes Stronger Anti Drug Outreach

Director called for sustained awareness drives in educational institutions, rural areas and urban centres through seminars, cultural programmes and social media outreach.

Director, Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Shreya Singhal on Wednesday reviewed the functioning of District Information Centres (DICs) across Kashmir Division and stressed intensifying activities under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan.

Chairing a review meeting, Shreya Singhal emphasized strengthening grassroots public outreach and said DICs play a vital role in disseminating government policies, welfare schemes and developmental initiatives effectively among the people.

She directed officers to improve coordination with district administrations for timely coverage of government programmes and urged District Information Officers to adopt innovative communication strategies through digital and social media platforms for wider public engagement.

Reviewing DIPR’s activities under the anti drug campaign, the Director called for sustained awareness drives in educational institutions, rural areas and urban centres through seminars, cultural programmes and social media outreach. She also stressed greater community participation to make the campaign more impactful.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Information (Hqrs) Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Joint Director Information Kashmir Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, Deputy Director Information (PR/AV) Javid Ahmad Rather, Deputy Director Information Srinagar Mohmmad Rafiq, Deputy Director (Hqr) Srinagar Zubair Ahmad, Cultural Officer Burhan Hussain and DIOs from across Kashmir Division.
