An awareness programme on the implementation of the POSH Act, 2013 and UGC Regulations, 2015 was organised at GGM Science College Jammu by the Sexual Harassment Probe Committee of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh in collaboration with SPARSH, Cluster University of Jammu.
Faculty members, students, research scholars and representatives from various colleges participated in the event. Speakers highlighted the importance of ensuring a safe, dignified and gender sensitive environment in educational institutions.
Special Judge Sonia Gupta delivered a lecture on the provisions of the POSH Act, functioning of Internal Committees, complaint redressal mechanisms and legal safeguards. Participants were also informed about legal aid and institutional remedies available under the Act.
