The Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express services have facilitated the travel of about 44,727 passengers in the first 10 days of its regular operation, while 28,762 passengers have availed the service in the first week itself.
According to railway officials, the four Vande Bharat services running between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar have gained immense popularity among the passengers in a short span of time. A large number of tourists, pilgrims, businessmen and local passengers are travelling in the trains.
According to the data, the booking of the trains has been 95 to 98 percent on several days, while about 11,000 passengers travelled on Saturday and Sunday.
The train service passes through picturesque landscapes including the Chenab and Anji bridges and has been made capable of operating in weather conditions up to minus 20 degrees Celsius, making it a reliable means of travel in all seasons.
According to the railways, the Vande Bharat service is proving to be a cost-effective, comfortable and fast alternative to air and road travel, making access to Kashmir even easier.
