DGP Nalin Prabhat said J&K Police are intensifying action against ISI-linked narcotics networks and their cross-border support structures involved in smuggling drugs into India.
He said that under the “Nasha Mukt Abhiyan,” police have registered 724 NDPS cases and arrested 806 persons so far. Authorities have seized 667 kilograms of narcotics, 19,000 psychotropic units, and attached 97 properties worth Rs 41.85 crore linked to the drug trade.
The DGP said J&K Police ranked first in the country in PIT-NDPS preventive detentions with 240 such detentions carried out this year. He added that properties linked to narcotics networks have also been attached in Punjab and Chandigarh.
Warning Pakistan-based alleged ISI operative Shehzad Bhatti, Prabhat said all networks involved in pushing narcotics into India would be tracked down and dismantled completely.
