Srinagar: The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), will host a special guest lecture on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, by Indian Information Service (IIS) officer Mr. Ghulam Abbas.
Mr. Abbas will speak on ‘Communication System in Government of India and Role of IIS Officers’ at 1:45 PM in the Board Room, AB-VII. The session is being held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo.
The lecture aims to give JMC students insight into the structure of government communication, the mandate of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and the role IIS officers play in disseminating official information and managing media relations.
Faculty and students of the department are expected to attend the deliberation, which is part of IUST’s ongoing efforts to bridge academic learning with professional practice in media and communication.
