The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations conducted the Common Entrance Test for M.Sc. Nursing Courses-2026 on Monday, with a total of 447 candidates appearing simultaneously at designated centres in Srinagar and Jammu as part of the academic cycle for the session 2026-27.

The test was administered at two venues: S.P. College on M.A. Road in Srinagar for candidates from the Kashmir Division, and Government Gandhi Memorial Science College in Jammu for candidates from the Jammu Division. The examination was held under the overall guidance of Prof. Minu Mahajan, Chairperson of J&K BOPEE, who ensured that all logistical and supervisory arrangements were in place ahead of the test date.

Senior officials of the Board, including its Members, the Secretary, the Controller of Examinations, and other officers, were actively present at both centres throughout the duration of the examination to monitor proceedings and ensure the integrity of the process. No untoward incidents or cases of unfair means were reported at either centre, a development that the Board credited to effective coordination with the respective institution administrations, law enforcement agencies, and district administration officials deployed under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioners of the respective district headquarters.

The smooth conduct of the examination reflects the institutional strengthening that J&K BOPEE has undertaken in recent years to ensure credibility and transparency in the professional entrance process across Jammu and Kashmir. With nursing education gaining increasing prominence as a healthcare priority both within J&K and nationally, competitive and fair entrance testing is a foundational requirement for ensuring that the best candidates are selected for postgraduate programmes.

M.Sc. Nursing placements have a direct bearing on the quality of specialised patient care available at tertiary healthcare institutions across the Union Territory. Results are expected to be announced following the completion of evaluation, after which the counselling and seat allocation process for M.Sc. Nursing Courses-2026 will be initiated in accordance with BOPEE’s established schedule.
