The National Testing Agency has issued a message of reassurance to the lakhs of students preparing for the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination, urging them to stay calm, trust their preparation and focus on resting well as the test, now just three days away, approaches.

The agency acknowledged that students have invested sustained effort throughout the year and said that the time immediately before the examination is best used not for frantic last-minute revision but for mental consolidation and physical rest. The message reflects a growing awareness within examination bodies of the acute psychological pressure that high-stakes national tests place on young people and their families.

NTA also moved to address concerns about examination security, assuring students that robust arrangements have been put in place to ensure a safe, fair and transparent examination, with the involvement of multiple government ministries, state authorities and security agencies. The agency was explicit that any attempt at malpractice or cheating would be dealt with firmly, not merely as a deterrent for wrongdoers but as a protection for the vast majority of honest candidates whose efforts and results must not be undermined by others.

Mental health support is available through the MANAS helpline at 14416 for students experiencing anxiety or distress in the run-up to the examination, and NTA drew specific attention to this resource, a signal that the agency is treating student wellbeing as part of its responsibility and not merely a peripheral concern.

NTA also directly addressed the ecosystem around the examination, appealing to parents, teachers and the wider public not to spread unverified information that could increase stress among students. The agency confirmed that the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination will be held as scheduled and asked candidates not to act on rumours about any postponement.

The NEET UG examination is among the most consequential competitive tests in India, determining access to undergraduate medical education across the country. With the previous examination having been the subject of significant controversy, the agency’s emphasis on security and fairness this year carries additional weight.
