New Delhi/Srinagar, Aug 2: In a moment of pride for Kashmir’s Urdu media, Daily Srinagar E Jang Senior Correspondent Aadil Salam has been conferred the prestigious e4m Urdu Journalism 40 Under 40 Award at a glittering ceremony held in New Delhi. Organised annually by Exchange4media, the award honours the country’s most outstanding young professionals in Urdu journalism.
Aadil Salam joined Daily Srinagar E Jang in 2021–22 after completing his studies in Mass Communication. Since then, he has steadily risen through several key editorial responsibilities, earning recognition for his dedicated reporting, professional excellence and commitment to quality journalism.
The latest honour further strengthens Daily Srinagar E Jang’s growing reputation on the national stage. In 2023, the newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief, Bilal Bashir Bhat, was also honoured with the e4m Urdu Journalism 40 Under 40 Award, while in 2024 he received the Best Regional Newspaper Award from the Media Federation of India (MFI) at its annual national awards ceremony in New Delhi.
Daily Srinagar E Jang has also been recognised for embracing innovation in Urdu journalism. On 17 July 2022, the newspaper introduced QR code-enabled news stories, allowing readers to access videos and detailed digital content directly through its print edition—an initiative widely appreciated as a significant step towards integrating traditional print journalism with digital media.
The e4m Urdu Journalism 40 Under 40 Award is presented after a rigorous multi-stage selection process by an eminent jury comprising veteran Urdu journalists, renowned poets and subject experts, making it one of the most coveted honours in the field of Urdu journalism.
