INTER-SCHOOL DISTRICT LEVEL RIFLE SHOOTING COMPETITION CONCLUDES AT JAMMU

JAMMU Aug 06: The Inter-School District Level Rifle Shooting Competition for All Age Groups (AAG) boys and girls concluded on Thursday at the Shooting Hall, Gandhi Nagar, here. Organised across various age categories, the event saw enthusiastic participation from both government and private schools across the district, providing a vibrant platform for young marksmen to showcase their talent and compete for top honours.

The competition was held under the guidance of Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, Anuradha Gupta. Expressing his appreciation, DYSSO Jammu commended the dedicated efforts of the organising committee, conveners, technical officials, and physical education staff, noting that such tournaments strengthen the district’s sports culture and nurture promising athletic talent. The matches were officiated by Vishal Bharti, Ashish Sharma, Vishal Mehra, Aman, and Rajesh Virdi.

In the Peep Sight discipline, the Under-14 Boys category saw Aryaveer Fotra from Heritage School secure the first position, followed by Devansh Mahajan from D.P.S Residency Road in second, and Danish from APS Sunjuwan in third. In the Under-14 Girls category, Amaira from JK Public Kunjwani took the top spot, while Ashwika from APS Sunjwan finished second.

The Under-17 Boys Peep Sight event was claimed by Laksh Chetan Wazir from Delhi Public School, with Rahul from St. Xavier Convent placing second, and Kunal from Army Public School Domana taking third. Among the Under-17 Girls, Lovyia Parihar from Army Public School Domana finished first, Dharya Kotwal from DPS Residency Road took second, and Tarleen from PO Domana secured third.

In the Under-19 Peep Sight events, Advika Singh from Army Public School Domana won first place in the Girls category, with schoolmate Nandika Sharma taking third. For the Under-19 Boys, Parth Abrol from Oriental Academy finished first, Karmanya Jamwal from APS Domana came second, and Panav Singh from BSF Sr. Sec. School Paloura placed third.

In the Shooting Pistol events, the Under-14 Boys category concluded with Ratish from Evergreen Hr. Sec. School in first, Sarthi Sharma from Delhi Public School in second, and Tejveer from British International School in third. In the Under-14 Girls category, Vedanshi from Jodhamal Public earned first place, Aradhya Jamwal from British International School took second, and Shardha Jasrotia from KC Public School finished third.

In the Under-17 Girls Pistol category, Charvi Arora from KC Public School claimed the top position, followed by schoolmate Amodini in second. The Under-17 Boys Pistol division saw Aarav from St. Xavier Convent take first place, Avyan Dasgotra from GD Goenka Public place second, and Sehajpal Singh from International Delhi Public School secure third.

Finally, in the Under-19 Shooting Pistol events, Sudhanshu from APS Jammu secured first position and Morish Sharma from Army Public School took second in the Boys category. In the Girls category, Alankrita from Carmel Convent finished first, Niharika Rajput from APS Domana placed second, and Dhanyata from APS Sunjuwan completed the standings in third.
