SKUAST-K holds Graduation Day for 77 BVSc students

The Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (FVSc & AH), Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), today held its 3rd Graduation Day Ceremony for the BVSc & AH 2020 batch at Harmukh Auditorium, Shuhama, marking the graduation of 77 veterinary students.

The graduating students were presented Provisional Degree Certificates upon successful completion of the BVSc & AH programme, while their final degree certificates will be conferred at the forthcoming formal convocation of the University.

The ceremony featured an academic procession, Veterinarian Oath, felicitation of academic achievers and the best outgoing internee student. A newsletter on the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan programme series, the 4th edition of the Arts & Craft Faculty Club magazine and a documentary prepared by the graduating students were also released.

Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-K, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, who was the Chief Guest, congratulated the graduates and their parents and appreciated the Faculty for its continued efforts towards academic excellence and professional training.

Prof. Ganai urged the young veterinarians to go beyond professional qualifications and emerge as responsible One Health professionals and conscientious citizens. He called upon them to pursue excellence with discipline, integrity and a strong sense of social responsibility, contributing to the development of the region and the nation.

Highlighting SKUAST-K’s growing academic and institutional recognition, the Vice-Chancellor reiterated the University’s commitment to strengthening its national standing and pursuing global aspirations through progressive academic and institutional initiatives.

Dean, FVSc & AH, Prof. Riaz Ahmad Shah, welcomed the dignitaries, graduates, parents, faculty members and guests and presented an overview of the Faculty’s academic and institutional achievements. He congratulated the graduating batch and noted the expanding presence of SKUAST-K’s veterinary graduates in reputed institutions and organisations within Jammu and Kashmir, across the country and beyond.

Registrar, SKUAST-K, Prof. Azmat Alam Khan, administered the Veterinarian Oath to the graduates and urged them to uphold the dignity of the veterinary profession through integrity, discipline, strong work ethics and high professional and moral values.

The ceremony also provided an emotional moment for the graduates and their parents, who reflected on the students’ academic journey and expressed pride, gratitude and excitement as the young veterinarians prepared to embark on their professional careers.

The programme began with an academic procession from the Faculty Outreach Centre to the Harmukh Auditorium and concluded with a group photograph of the graduating batch.

Director Extension Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth, Director Education Prof. Mohammad Altaf Bhat, Dean Students Welfare Prof. Sajad Gangoo, UG Coordinator Dr. I. M. Allaie, Deans and Associate Deans of various faculties, retired faculty members, parents, students and other guests attended the ceremony. The formal proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Abdul Hai, Lead Warden.
