New Delhi, August 17: The Bharatiya Janata Party BJP has appointed two prominent Muslim leaders from Uttar Pradesh to key positions in its national organisation, according to the list released by the party.
Earlier on Monday BJP announced the new team of national office-bearers, seven months after appointing Nitin Nabin as the party’s 12th national president.
Former Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor Prof. Tariq Mansoor has been appointed National Vice President of the BJP, while Kunwar Basit Ali of Uttar Pradesh has been appointed National President of the BJP Minority Morcha.
The appointments place two Muslim leaders from Uttar Pradesh in prominent positions within the party’s national organisational structure.
According to the party’s announcement, the appointments have come into effect immediately.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the new party office bearers through a post on X.
“Congratulations to the newly appointed National Office Bearers of the BJP and those who have been given various responsibilities in the Party. This newly appointed team brings together organisational experience, energy and grassroots connect. I am confident they will give their best in strengthening our Party and focussing on public service. My best wishes to them,” PM Modi wrote.
