The Anti-Narcotics Task Force Kashmir has frozen and attached a two-storeyed residential house worth approximately ₹50 lakh belonging to accused Iftikhar Ahmad, son of Ghulam Rasool Qureshi, a resident of Taad, Karnah in Kupwara district, who is named in FIR No. 06/2026 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act and Section 61 of the BNS, registered at Police Station ANTF Kashmir.
The property has been frozen and attached under Section 68-E read with Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, as part of ANTF Kashmir’s ongoing efforts to identify, trace and proceed against properties and assets linked to illicit narcotics activities. Officials described the action as reflective of the task force’s zero-tolerance approach toward drug trafficking and its associated financial networks, stating that targeting both individuals involved in the narcotics trade and the assets connected to such activities helps disrupt the financial backbone of the drug menace.
ANTF Kashmir said the property-freezing action forms part of its continuing campaign to dismantle the economic infrastructure supporting the illegal drug trade and sends a clear signal that proceeds and assets generated through narcotics trafficking will be identified and proceeded against in accordance with law. The task force reiterated its commitment to protecting society, particularly the youth, from the consequences of drug abuse, and appealed to the public to extend cooperation in identifying and reporting activities related to drug trafficking and abuse, noting that public participation remains vital to making the fight against the drug menace more effective.
