Srinagar: The CR’s Committee of Vitasta School of Law and Humanities on Monday felicitated Dr Humera Rehman on her assumption of office as the institution’s new Principal, in a gesture that reflected the goodwill of the student community towards the incoming head of the college.

As part of the felicitation, the Committee presented Dr Rehman with a calligraphic frame bearing a sacred inscription, a token that carries particular cultural and spiritual significance in Kashmir, where calligraphy has long been treasured as an art form and a mark of respect. The Committee also handed over a formal Letter of Appreciation on behalf of the students, underlining that the occasion was meant to convey the collective sentiments of the student body and not merely those of its representatives.

The letter extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr Rehman and spoke warmly of her qualities. It acknowledged her competence, quiet strength and integrity, attributes the students said they associate with her and consider essential for anyone entrusted with the leadership of an academic institution. Such recognition from students, who are the principal stakeholders of any college, is often an early indicator of the confidence a new head of institution enjoys on campus.

The Committee also voiced its expectations for the period ahead. It expressed confidence that under Dr Rehman’s leadership the Principal’s office would remain accessible to students, a space where merit is respected, voices are heard and institutional dignity is upheld. In institutions of legal and humanities education, where debate, dialogue and the free exchange of ideas form the core of learning, an approachable administration is widely regarded as a vital part of a healthy academic environment.

The CR’s Committee reaffirmed its continued cooperation in initiatives aimed at the welfare of the institution and its students. It said it would remain a willing partner in efforts to strengthen the academic and co-curricular life of the college, signalling a constructive approach to the working relationship between the student body and the administration.

The Committee wished Dr Rehman a successful and distinguished tenure. The felicitation was marked by an atmosphere of courtesy and mutual respect, setting a cordial tone as the new Principal begins her term at the helm of Vitasta School of Law and Humanities. Students and faculty alike will be watching closely as she settles into the role and outlines her priorities for the institution in the weeks and months to come.
