World history is a witness to the fact that behind every war, there is only one claim, and that is “peace”. Whether powerful nations or weak states, all describe their battles as a means of achieving peace in some way or another. But the question arises that if the goal of war is truly peace, then why does destruction, bloodshed and hatred arise?
War actually offers a temporary and harsh solution to problems, but it leaves cracks in hearts that cannot be filled for generations. The loss of human lives, the destruction of the economy and the destruction of social structures are the price that has to be paid after any war. On the contrary, negotiations are the path that provides an opportunity to understand, resolve differences and establish lasting peace.
Negotiations are actually the first step to peace. When two parties lay down their arms and adopt the path of dialogue, they admit that the solution to problems lies in wisdom rather than force. There have been countless occasions in history where, after long wars, negotiations finally paved the way for peace.
In today’s era, when the world stands in the shadow of nuclear powers, the concept of war has become more dangerous than ever. Even a small mistake can lead to massive destruction. In such a situation, wisdom demands that conflicts be resolved through dialogue.
It must be recognized that true peace is not achieved by winning wars alone, but by winning hearts. Dialogue not only solves problems but also promotes trust, tolerance and harmony.
If the goal of every war is peace, then why not try to achieve this goal without war? This is the thinking that can lay the foundation for a better, safer and more peaceful world.
