Haamid Bukhari appointed Registrar of Companies for J&K and Ladakh

Syed Haamid Bukhari, a senior officer of the Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS) from the 2016 UPSC batch, has been appointed as the Registrar of Companies (ROC) for the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

A native of Jammu & Kashmir, Bukhari holds a management degree from IUST Awantipora, a postgraduate degree in Business and Allied Laws from NLSIU Bengaluru, and a Master’s in Politics and International Relations from JNU, New Delhi.

With over eight years of service in the Government of India, he has held key positions in both Srinagar and New Delhi. As Deputy ROC Srinagar, he played a significant role in operationalizing the Ministry of Corporate Affairs’ field office in Kashmir in 2019 following the abrogation of Article 370.

He has also served as Deputy Official Liquidator attached to the High Court of J&K and Ladakh. Currently posted in the Ministry’s Northern Directorate, he oversees corporate fraud investigations, inspections, DIN scrutiny, and security clearances, while also handling major corporate governance matters and leading enforcement actions.

Additionally, he served as Nodal Officer (North India) for the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme and hosted official guests during Independence Day 2025 and Republic Day 2026.
