Former Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has taken oath as the new Chief Minister of Bihar, becoming the first BJP leader to hold the post in the state.

The oath was administered by Governor Syed Ata Hasnain at Lok Bhawan in Patna.

Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav of the JD(U) were also sworn in as ministers and will serve as Deputy Chief Ministers.
