Srinagar, June 10: In a major boost for the sporting community, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has selected 223 sportspersons for gazetted and non-gazetted government jobs under the Sports Quota.
Minister for Youth Services and Sports Satish Sharma said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will soon hand over appointment orders to the selected candidates.
The beneficiaries include athletes who have represented J&K and India at national and international levels, including Olympian Chain Singh.
Sharma said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to rewarding sporting excellence and encouraging youth to pursue sports as a viable career.
He added that the move will inspire aspiring athletes and strengthen the sports ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
