History is witness that extremism, oppression, and the killing of democracy always backfire. The burning situation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir stands as an epitome of this grim reality. The ruthless and directionless state of Pakistan has so far shot dead more than 30 protesters in different parts of the region, and about 300 have been wounded.
The patience of the people of POJK has finally run out, and they are protesting against inflation and the continued facade of “refugee seats” in the POJK assembly, which the Punjab-led Pakistani establishment has maintained to appease terror elements.
After the abrogation of Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir has seen tremendous progress and investment from across India. Stone pelting and terror violence have become things of the past. Art, literature, and tourism have replaced the negativity. Meanwhile, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is languishing in the dark ages of backwardness. The prices of flour, rice, fuel, and other basic commodities are breaking the backs of common people there.
The writing is on the wall, and the time is not far when a final agitation will be launched by the people of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir to merge with India. The Pakistani state, especially its military establishment, played a dirty game of terrorism and used POJK as a base to bleed India, killing thousands of innocents. But India stood firm, defeating the nefarious designs of Pakistan. Karma has now come to haunt Pakistan, and it is burning from Balochistan to POJK, on the verge of disintegrating into several independent countries.
India hopes the international community will hold Pakistan accountable for its misdeeds and abuses. Addressing the media in New Delhi, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that New Delhi continues to see a pattern of fake news and videos emanating from Pakistan. Mr. Jaiswal described them as a desperate attempt by Pakistan to cover up its own failings and deflect attention from its human rights abuses.
The cries and tears of POJK will not go unanswered, as it is only a matter of time before POJK fully becomes an integral part of India, which is our national resolve.
Various international activists, media organizations, and human rights groups have condemned Pakistan’s state violence against peaceful protesters in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, expressing solidarity with demonstrators demanding rights, justice, and dignity.
Even Pakistan’s political and social circles are saying that protests across Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir have intensified following a ban on the Joint Awami Action Committee. Demonstrators are demanding greater autonomy, resource control, and political reforms, while accusing Pakistani authorities of repression, violence, and communication restrictions.
The sun of oppression will set, and POJK will merge with India.
Ultimately, justice and truth endure beyond tyranny and terror. The aspirations of POJK’s people for freedom, development, and dignity cannot be suppressed forever. As democratic values triumph over authoritarianism, their rightful integration with India represents not just geography, but the victory of hope over despair.
