BJP Minority Morcha National President Haji Jamal Siddiqui on Thursday said that Jammu and Kashmir has undergone remarkable transformation and witnessed unprecedented development during the 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Siddiqui made these remarks while leading the BJP’s “Pragati Pad Yatra” in Srinagar, a public outreach campaign aimed at highlighting the achievements and developmental initiatives undertaken by the Modi-led government across the country over the past decade.
Addressing reporters on the sidelines of the yatra, Siddiqui said that Jammu and Kashmir has seen substantial improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, tourism, road connectivity and railway services. He noted that several landmark projects have significantly enhanced the region’s growth prospects and improved the quality of life for residents.
Referring to recent developments in the transport sector, Siddiqui said the introduction of the Vande Bharat train service and other major infrastructure projects have strengthened connectivity and opened new opportunities for economic progress in the Union Territory.
He further stated that various welfare schemes launched by the central government have reached beneficiaries at the grassroots level, ensuring that support and development initiatives are delivered directly to the people. According to him, the government’s focus has remained on inclusive development, with special attention given to youth empowerment, women’s welfare and the upliftment of minority communities.
Commenting on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, Siddiqui expressed confidence that statehood would be restored in due course. He also said that efforts to eliminate terrorism from the region are continuing and asserted that peace, stability and development remain top priorities of the government.
Several senior BJP leaders and party functionaries from Jammu and Kashmir participated in the Pragati Pad Yatra. During the programme, party leaders interacted with local residents and highlighted various welfare schemes and developmental achievements implemented over the last 12 years. They said the campaign aims to strengthen grassroots engagement and increase public awareness about government initiatives across the region.
