New Delhi/Various celebrations were held across the country on the 76th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP organised blood donation camps, prayer programmes in temples, lighting of lamps and public engagement activities.
On the completion of 25 years of public service, the NDA-affiliated Chief Ministers congratulated the Prime Minister, praised his services and called him the “architect of a new India.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ in Varanasi, while Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also praised Narendra Modi’s leadership and services.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off a motorcycle rally for Varanasi on the occasion of Narendra Modi’s birthday in Gujarat’s Vadnagar, the birthplace of the prime minister. The rally was held in Varanasi in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Yogi Adityanath.
Over 25 lakh diyas were lit on the banks of the Kashipra river in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. BJP President Nitin Nabiyal and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in the lighting of the lamps. Chief Ministers of non-NDA states also wished Narendra Modi on his birthday.
The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ program at the historic Lal Chowk Clock Tower in Srinagar to mark the 76th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which party workers and supporters lit diyas and candles.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha celebrates PM Modi’s birthday at ‘Plash’, ‘Parisha’ Home and Children’s Hospital Bemina
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited ‘Plash’ and ‘Prisha’ Children’s Homes in Srinagar on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and spent time with the children under his care. He distributed school bags, sports kits and sweets among the children and also inspected the residential facilities.
Later, the Lieutenant Governor visited Children’s Hospital Bimina, where he met the children undergoing treatment, enquired about their well-being, distributed gifts and wished them a speedy and complete recovery.
The visit was part of the activities organised under ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a month-long service and public outreach campaign launched on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s birthday.
Manoj Sinha said that 12 programmes will be organised under the campaign till October 17, which include student competitions on the theme ‘My Dream India’, motivation of Anganwadi and ASHA workers, tree plantation, youth activities and registration camps under ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’.
He said that camps will be organized at block and ward levels to connect the underprivileged beneficiaries with various government schemes and appealed to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir to participate fully in this campaign
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday demanded restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that verbal assurances of restoration of statehood after delimitation and elections were also given in Parliament and the Supreme Court, but it has not been implemented so far. Omar Abdullah said that Jammu and Kashmir has completed the delimitation and elections stages, therefore statehood should be restored now. He also advised the representatives of Ladakh to get the matters in writing instead of verbal assurances.
