Kulgam Police have attached immovable property worth approximately ₹1 crore in the district, in one of the more significant actions under the ongoing 100 Days Campaign aimed at curbing unlawful activities and dismantling the financial infrastructure that sustains them.

The action was carried out by Police Station Yaripora under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Kulgam, Anayat Ali Choudhary. The attached property comprises two residential houses in Kujjar, belonging to Javid Ahmad Dar and Parvez Ahmad Dar, both sons of Bashir Ahmad Dar. The attachment was executed under the relevant provisions of law, following orders issued by the competent authority, police said.

Officials described the move as part of a wider drive to ensure that proceeds of crime and properties linked to unlawful activity are dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. Kulgam Police reiterated its resolve to maintain peace, uphold the rule of law, and take stringent action against individuals engaged in activities that threaten public order and the security of the Union Territory.

The 100 Days Campaign, under which the action falls, has emerged as one of the key enforcement drives of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in recent months, focused on identifying and attaching properties tied to unlawful enterprises across districts. Property attachment as a policing tool has increasingly been used to disrupt the financial backbone of networks involved in activities prejudicial to security, rather than relying solely on criminal prosecution, which can be a prolonged process.

South Kashmir’s Kulgam district has, in the past, seen periodic security operations, and the latest action reflects a continued administrative focus on choking off resources linked to unlawful conduct in the area. By targeting real estate assets directly, authorities aim to send a clear deterrent message to those who may seek to benefit financially from activities that undermine law and order.

Police also appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement and to share information about any unlawful activity in their localities, saying such cooperation would help strengthen the collective effort to maintain peace and security in the region. The Yaripora action is expected to be followed by similar attachments in other parts of the district as the campaign progresses, officials indicated, without specifying further targets at this stage.
